Central Java is the cultural cradle of Indonesia. The Javanese are refined, sensitive people,
their language melodious and their manners charming.
Two and a half hours north west of the Villa lies Borobudur, one of the world’s greatest
Buddhist Monument. Built by Sailendra Kings in the 8th & 9th centuries, it endures as a
magnet for the Buddhist faith.
Prambanan, another historic Hindu landmark is 16 km away from the Villa. It was completed in
900 AD and the three Temples are dedicated Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu.
The Kraton, Royal Palace of The Sultans of Yogyakarta is only an hour and half away from
Puri Suling.
